New PS4 Update (Finally!) Adding Themes

Thank you Sony!

I’ve made multiple rants against Sony for their seemingly complacent handling of the PlayStation 4 over the last few months, but they finally seem to be on the ball with it again, recently. Notably, consider that they are finally giving us more and more substantial firmware updates, adding features that were either promised before launch (but missing from the system at launch), or just features that were available on PS3, and so logically should have been there on PS4 too.

One of these is customizable themes. The fact that these were missing from the PS4 is mind boggling, especially when you consider the flexibility in customization options that the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PSP provided. The Vita, especially, is so incredibly flexible in how much it lets you personalize the OS. So the absence of something like this on the PS4 was always baffling (and really, that blue screen was getting on my nerves).

Thankfully, that seems to be changing, as Sony has finally announced that themes will be coming to the PS4 with firmware update 2.0. It should be launching some time in September, stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we’ll keep you informed.
