A new update for Nintendo Switch now allows players to install update patches when the console storage is full. The update will allow players to delete older data of the game, then install the new update. In n post on the official Nintendo support page, a list of patch notes is available for players to look into.
Obviously enough, players won’t be able to play the game while updates install in the background. In addition to the system update, Nintendo has also released a firmware update for the Switch Joy-cons. While Nintendo hasn’t released any patch notes for the controller update, its recommended that players install these at the earliest.
Following a plethora of rumors and speculation, Nintendo just revealed an updated Switch titled the Nintendo Switch (OLED model), set to release in October this year. The updated Switch will have a 7 inch OLED display, a new dock with a built-in ethernet port, and will cost $350.
UPDATE NOTES:
Added the following system functionality:
- If there is not enough space remaining on the system memory (internal storage) or microSD card when downloading game software update data, you can now delete old data for that software, enabling you to download the new data.
- When deleting the old data, you won’t be able to play the game until the new data has finished downloading.
General system stability improvements have been made to enhance the user’s experience.
