Ni no Kuni 2 Generated 60% More Revenue Than The First Game in US in March

Against all odds, Ni no Kuni 2 did well.

Yesterday’s NPD release was a really wholesome one- Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo all had something to write home about on the hardware front, while on the software front, Kirby, MLB The Show, Far Cry, and Rare all saw their biggest debuts yet. But there was another franchise that had a series record set with its debut in the US last month- Ni no Kuni.

NPD’s Mat Piscatella confirmed on Twitter today that the revenue generated by Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom in March was 60% higher than the revenue generated by the original game at launch back in 2013- so, that’s another franchise best launch right there. Given the mixed reception that the game has received from fans, this should, at the very least, prompt Level-5 and Bandai Namco to look into taking fan feedback into account for a potential third game- which there might be one of now that the second one seems to have done well.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is available exclusively on the PS4 and PC.
