The Game Awards 2019 were absolutely packed with new announcements, and one of the many new games to be unveiled at the show was Nine to Five, a tactical team-based shooter developed by Redhill Games, a studio that was formed last year by former Remedy Entertainment CEO Matias Myllyrinne.
Nine to Five is set in a near-future world where corporations rule the roost, and “being a mercenary for them is just another job.” The game pits three teams of three players each against each other, with every match spanning three rounds in total. The performances of all the teams at the end of a round influences how the next one begins, and each round presents players with new objectives, forcing teams to constantly keep changing tactics. As per the developers, Nine to Five places an “emphasis on outsmarting the competition rather than outgunning them.” Take a look at its reveal trailer below.
Nine to Five doesn’t yet have a release date, nor have the developers confirmed what platforms it will be launching on (other than PC). That said, the game will be receiving an alpha some time in 2020, and you can register for it at the game’s official website through here.
