According to a Nikkei Report (via Dr. Serkan Toto), Nintendo is apparently set to debut its plans for mobiles such as smartphones and tablets on Thursday. This will be during an investor briefing session and seems completely out of left field, especially considering that president Satoru Iwata stated that Nintendo would never bring Mario to mobiles.
But not so fast. Nintendo may actually be releasing a mobile app which will release demos and videos for different titles on the 3DS or Wii U to consumers. So you won’t be getting full games – rather, Nintendo is looking to advertise just what smartphone users could be getting if they bought a 3DS or Wii U.
At this time, all content will seemingly be free and the app itself will be arriving on iOS and Android. Expect it to release not too long after Nintendo makes the official announcement.
