Nintendo is mixing things up again this E3- instead of having a live conference, they’ll be having a pre-recorded digital event, and they will also be having a live Super Smash Bros. Invitational tournament. No one really knows what this stuff will be like, simply because no one has ever quite attempted anything like this before.
Nintendo is now trying to clear the air. Today they detailed just what this invitational event would be like.
On Tuesday, June 10, 16 previously selected highly skilled Super Smash Bros. players will face off at the NOKIA Theatre in L.A. live;the event will celebrate Super Smash Bros. fan culture and entertain thousands of spectators in person. If you can’t get to E3, it will also be live-streamed on both Twitch’s E3 channel and Nintendo’s Twitch channel to let countless others around the world be among the first to see the new game in action, as it is played live. In the spirit of the event, Nintendo also announced that those who come dressed up as their favorite Smash Bros. characters might get selected for priority seating. I leave it to you to decide if it is worth it.
It sounds like it will be one hell of a party- stay tuned to GamingBolt for full coverage of this, and other things that go down this year at E3.
Super Smash Bros. launches later this year for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. It is the first Super Smash Bros. game since Brawl in 2008, and only the fourth game in the series.
