With Xbox providing updates on its upcoming titles in the Developer_Direct and Sony readying for the launch of PlayStation VR2, Nintendo has been keeping a low profile. It’s interesting because The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one of the biggest games of the year, is out in May and could be the last major release for the Nintendo Switch.
There have also been rumors that pre-orders for it and the delayed Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp going live soon. In the midst of this, Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb believes, based on “everything I’m hearing,” that there will be a Nintendo Direct in the week of February 6th.
In the recent Last of the Nintendogs podcast, Grubb was asked whether he was expecting a Direct this month and what his pulse was on the same. “Yeah, I mean…everything I’m hearing, and it’s all just sort of reiterating it. It continues to be the week of February 6th, over and over and over again. Every little detail I get is basically a week from now.
“We should be getting… We should begin hearing about all this stuff. I think it’s probably late in the week…” Grubb didn’t guarantee anything, though. “I’m just saying that’s what everything’s sort of pointing to right now. I don’t think that’s too surprising because they always have one in February or March, at the latest.”
He predicts that Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will receive updates, though there should be other announcements. Of course, time will tell, so stay tuned for more details in the coming week.
