We may not have gotten the traditional January Direct from Nintendo this year, but as it turns out, we may not have to wait long for their next Direct presentation anyway. According to ResetEra poster and known Nintendo insider King Zell (who’s leaked everything from the Switch version of The World Ends With You to details about Pokemon Let’s Go that turned out to be accurate, to the fact that Animal Crossing for the Switch would go on to be announced when it did get announced), Nintendo Direct is scheduled for this Wednesday, on February 13th (via Nintendo Everything).
According to the snippets of information given out by them, the Direct might also turn out to be a big one. According to them, Nintendo supposedly has multiple new Switch titles that they want to announce this year (which may or may not happen at the upcoming Direct). This is something that’s been strongly rumoured recently already, and Nintendo themselves have confirmed it to be the case as well. The rumoured Metroid Prime Trilogy could be announced this Wednesday, while Nintendo has other games such as Switch port of Pikmin 3, Super Mario Maker 2, the next 2D Zelda, and a full reveal for Pokemon Gen 8 lined up as well- though these might not all be happening on Wednesday (but definitely in 2019).
Given the timing of the Direct, it might also be safe to assume that we’ll be hearing more about the likes of Fire Emblem: Three Houses (which is due out in Spring) and Animal Crossing (which has traditionally been a Summer game). This is just speculation on my part, though, so don’t take it as gospel or anything.
Either way, stay tuned, and we’ll let you know as soon as we have any new info.
