Nintendo Looking At Adding More Services To Nintendo Switch Online To Make It More Appealing – Report

Anything that can make it better than what it is right now is fine by me.

Nintendo Switch Online is not a great service. Even though it is exceptionally cheap, it manages to disappoint, thanks to subpar features (you can’t even message friends or send them invites to join your game), and Nintendo’s general ineptitude with online. However, it looks like the company may be looking to make its online offering better.

Per a report by Nikkei, loosely translated by Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad on ResetEra, it seems that Nintendo is looking to add more services to Nintendo Switch Online to make it more appealing. These services are aimed at core gamers, and may include, among other things, the previously leaked SNES games that are reportedly going to be added to the service soon. The recent job listing for a Nintendo Switch Online service manager could also be a part of this initiative

No more details are given, so this is mostly just guesswork. It’s unclear whether or not Nintendo is even happy with how the service has done (the last time they talked about it, they said it had a “good launch”, but that they were not ready to share any specific numbers). Nonetheless, whatever the reasoning, anything that can make Nintendo Switch Online better is okay by me.
