Just as quickly as Nintendo confirmed a March 2017 worldwide release date for its mysterious NX console during a recent financial briefing, it also revealed that the console will not be showcased at E3 2016.
According to Takashi Mochizuki of The Wall Street Journey on Twitter, the briefing session at Nintendo indicated that there would be no NX at the expo. Instead, the company will be focus on The Legend of Zelda, which has been confirmed to release on the Wii U and NX. It also been delayed again, this time to 2017.
Another interesting tweet stood out from the briefing. “Nintendo CEO: NX won’t simply replace 3DS and Wii U,” according to Mochizuki and the NX is apparently going to be showcased “later this year”. While it may not be revealed to the public, it’s highly likely that some behind-closed-doors demonstrations of the console occur.
