Nintendo has revealed the release date for its next platform, the NX.

In its recent consolidated financial statements, Nintendo said that, “For our dedicated video game platform business, Nintendo is currently developing a gaming platform codenamed ‘NX’ with a brand-new concept. NX will be launched in March 2017 globally.”

As for what the NX actually is, Nintendo didn’t say. More information could arrive from an investor’s briefing later today so stay tuned for that. Regardless, the rumours can somewhat be put to rest with regards to what Nintendo will be up to in the coming year and in the future.

At the very least we’ll find out what games will be coming to the NX at E3 2016 (and if The Legend of Zelda Wii U is somewhere on that list), if not the console’s final name and working. What are your thoughts on a March 2017 release though? Let us know in the comments below.
