Nintendo Switch And Super Mario Odyssey Continue To Sell Exceptionally Well In Japan

In the week just before Christmas, both the Switch and Super Mario Odyssey top sales charts of December 18 to December 24.

We had reported on the great sales being enjoyed by Super Mario Odyssey and the Nintendo Switch. In that week which ran from December 11-17, sales for both were impressive. According to the sales charts released by Media Crate, sales for the week of December 18 to December 24 boasts even more impressive sales, probably since it is the Christmas holiday season.

Super Mario Odyssey has sold a total of 209,630 copies in the given week and the Nintendo Switch has sold 269,684 units. This marks an impressive increase in sales over the last week. Other titles for the Switch such as Splatoon 2 also continue selling well with 137,607 copies sold in the given week. Splatoon 2 also remains Japan’s best selling game for the Switch with over 1.6 million copies sold in total within the country.

The holiday season has been great for the Nintendo Switch as well as its exclusives and it remains to be seen for how much longer sales will continue to increase at such a rate.
