In spite of Nintendo’s refusal to comment on whether or not the Switch has a touch screen, it sounds like it will, after all. According to this report on Eurogamer, the Nintendo Switch will have a 6.2 inch multitouch capacitive touchscreen.
Which makes sense, if you think about it- after all, Nintendo pioneered the touch screen for mass market devices in the first place, and what modern device really ships without one in this day and age? This would be a step up from the Wii U, DS, and 3DS, which all used resistive touch screens, which are single touch and of lower quality.
The screen is also apparently 720p, which is a major step up from the screen on any other handheld gaming device thus far, including the 3DS, which is 240p, and the Wii U Gamepad and PS Vita, which are both 540p. Whether or not this is true is something we will have to wait till January 12 to know. The Nintendo Switch launches worldwide some time in March 2017. Thoughts?
