The original Nioh was a surprise hit when it released several years ago on the PS4. The fantasy action RPG had a unique stance-based battle system and blended myth and history in interesting ways. That game has since released on PC and seen good deal of success. Its sequel, Nioh 2, is set to hit a lot of the same notes, in somewhat of a literal sense too as a new video shows with the music behind the game.
The video features Composers Yugo Kanno and Akihiro Manabe as they talk about making the game’s soundtrack. We also get a peek behind the scenes as they create and impose the music to parts of Nioh 2. Most of the in-game footage is stuff we’ve seen before, but it’s still neat to watch. The video is in Japanese, but it does offer a decent Closed Caption option.
Nioh 2 will release exclusively on PlayStation 4 March 13th. The soundtrack will be available in Japan on March 18th, though no word on whether it will release elsewhere. You will get a chance to try out the game one more time before launch with “Last Chance Trial” beginning February 28th.
