An EA representative told Blue’s News that ,’As of right now a PC sku is not in the plan’.
This comes after the PC version of Dead Space 2 was left out of EA’s fiscal year 2011 release line up. No reason has been given as yet for why the PC edition has been scrapped, particularly after EA in fact announced it along with its console brethren only a few months ago.
One can only speculate that the PC version of Dead Space sold too poorly to warrant a sequel.
In related news, a survey recieved by Kotaku has given suggestion that Dead Space Extraction, the Wii port of the game (which also sold poorly) could be making its way to the downloadable marketplaces of the major consoles some time in the future for as little as $15. The on-rails shooter acheived good review scores, but failed to sell on the Wii, possibly due to the market audience.
Dead Space 2 is expected to release on consoles and handhelds in Q1 2011.
