No Man’s Sky Datamined Assets Potentially Hint At An Xbox One Version

Don't celebrate just yet, though...

It appears that a lot of enthusiastic fans of No Man’s Sky have taken to datamining the game, and they have found themselves some rather interesting stuff in the game’s code– specifically, it seems that they have found references to the Xbox One, indicating that the space exploration simulation game may be coming to Microsoft’s console.

It is to be noted that the game has never been explicitly referred to as a PS4 exclusive in any of the marketing for it in the leadup to its launch, which would indicate that the door is open to other versions existing- however, in the interests of fairness, it is important that we caution Xbox One players against celebrating too early.

References to Xbox 360 and PS3 have also been found in the code for the game, possibly residues from back when the game may have been intended to hit those platforms- this means that the references to the Xbox One in the code may also just be residue, with no plans in place at all to bring the game to that console for now.

Still, if it does end up going over to Microsoft’s console, it will be a symbolic victory. No Mans Sky is one of the most hyped games of all time, indie or otherwise, and Microsoft will undoubtedly want to have it on their system too. For now, you can play the game on PS4 and PC.
