No Man’s Sky Dev “Thinking About” Project Morpheus Support on PS4

"Nothing more and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe."

Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky has teased us endlessly with its procedurally generated sandbox and open world capabilities. It now appears that it could things to another level entirely with support for Project Morpheus, Sony’s PS4 compatible virtual reality headset, and Oculus Rift.

Founder Sean Murray didn’t confirm support when speaking to EDGE but there does seem to be some interest in the same. “I don’t know what I’m allowed to say. It’s something we’re thinking about.

“Morpheus, Oculus…There’s nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe. I think that, for the people who want to just explore, and even for the space combat and things like that, it would be a good fit. Let’s put it that way.”

We can agree though Sony hasn’t quite offered a lot of information on when Project Morpheus will release. Oculus Rift releases in early 2016 though – could No Man’s Sky target that window in order to cater to the maximum number of players? We’ll find out in the coming months.
