I am personally foolishly excited for No Man’s Sky– it is the kind of game I have been looking forward to since I was a kid, and I first learned about space. I’ve always wanted to explore space, and walk on alien worlds, see the infinite reaches hundreds of millions of light years away from me with my own eyes. But as long as I have been fascinated with space, I have also realized that what I want will never, ever happen- a sobering realization, but one which has led to me looking for the ultimate space game.
No Man’s Sky, then, is a game I have literally been playing towards all my life. And I am not the only one who feels this way- speaking with BBC, Hello Games’ Sean Murray admitted that this is the kind of game he has dreamed of playing since he was a child.
“This game is something I’ve always wanted to play since I was a kid. A lot of people are saying they’ve been dreaming about something like this since they were young as well.
“Actually the idea of No Man’s Sky translates to people, they understand what a universe is and how cool it would be to simulate one,” he mused. “We set the players out at the edge of that universe and we tell them, if they want to, they can try and journey to the centre.”
I can personally vouch for that- and I can’t wait for this game as a result.
No Man’s Sky will launch (pun intended) on PC and PS4 in June.
