It sounds like Hello Games’ long awaited and anticipated space exploration and adventure game No Man’s Sky, which released earlier this week after years of hype and anticipation and a fair few number of delays, is officially a hit now.
Speaking on Twitter, Hello Games’ Sean Murray noted that 10 million species have been discovered and catalogued by No Man’s Sky players already, also pointing out that that is more species than have been discovered on Earth so far. I’m not sure that last bit is necessarily accurate, but 10 million species discovered within a day of the game’s release is a staggeringly impressive number nonetheless, and is yet another bit of evidence pointing that No Man’s Sky has unequivocally been a success.
No Man’s Sky is available right now on PlayStation 4; a PC version of the game is set to launch later this week, and its release will probably push all of these numbers up even higher.
