Notch Doesn’t Seem To Be Angry At Oculus Rift Anymore

Minecraft coming to Oculus Rift after all, then?

Remember when Oculus Rift was bought out by Facebook earlier this year? And how much of an uproar there was over that? And how Notch, the creator of Minecraft, threw a hissy fit over it, decrying Facebook publicly, and then canceling a planned version of his game for the virtual reality headset?

In the last few months, as we have seen people resign themselves and adapt to the idea of a Facebook owned Oculus, the hue and cry has died down; and now it seems Notch himself may be thawing to the idea of Oculus being owned by Facebook after all.

Notch himself seems to have realized how childish his reaction was. He said on his Twitter account, “And about now I’m officially over being upset about Facebook buying Oculus. I’m upset about there being a hole in my favorite sock instead,”

To this, industry legend and pioneer John Carmack, who formerly worked with id, but is now working with Oculus, and a hell of a programmer, replied with, “Say the word, ship the source, and I’ll make sure It runs well on you-know-what…”

Meaning, you know. Minecraft might be coming to Oculus Rift after all.

Aren’t you happy that everyone kissed and made up?
