Beat ’em up games with rhythmic combat were nothing new in 2014, but that didn’t stop One Finger Death Punch from standing out. The title’s brutal, over-the-top combat will return in its sequel, One Finger Death Punch 2, and thankfully we’re pretty close to its release date. Speaking to Destructoid, Silver Dollar co-founder Jon Flook revealed that it would be out in April 2019 for PC.
Stating that the PC version is “90 percent done”, Flook also revealed that the first game is “hidden” in the sequel. The studio’s most recent cancelled project can also be found. “We have some real awesome stuff in there for our old fans. Our first game is hidden in One Finger Death Punch 2, as is our most recent cancelled project. We don’t even care if people find them—it’s perfectly okay.”
The original game featured 13 modes, three difficulty levels, and more than 250 stages, along with numerous skills to unlock. If the sequel manages that same level of content while also including the original and another hidden game, it’ll provide massive value (and more stickman violence than we may be comfortable with). One Finger Death Punch originally released for the Xbox 360, but soon made its way to the PC, iOS, and Android. Hopefully the sequel arrives for other platforms as well.
