The Kickstarter campaign for Owlcat Games’ Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has finished with $2.054 million raised in funding. Numerous stretch goals have been unlocked along the way. Some of the more recent goals include more global map encounters, the Riddles of Areshkigal and an intelligent weapon as a sort of mini-companion.
The bump in global map encounters will see players encountering all sorts of different situations, including battles with tough foes and new characters. The Riddles of Areshkigal is an optional quest and sees players facing off against the sphinx-like Areshkigal. It promises to challenge one’s combat skills and should serve as a nice additional challenge.
As for the intelligent weapon, it’s exactly as it sounds. This weapon is self-aware and brings some interesting new layers to conversations and fights. You can even unravel its true identity through a quest or just sell it off altogether (for what’s implied to be a great price).
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is targeting a June 2021 release. Stay tuned for more details on its development and check out some combat footage here.
