Persona 4 Golden on PC Hits 500,000 Players

The PC port racks up impressive numbers in less than a month of release.

No one could have ever believed that Atlus’s Persona 4 Golden would come to PC. Lo and behold though, it received surprise release during last month’s PC Gaming Show and had been deemed success by the publisher. In a recent tweet, Atlus has reported 500,000 players on PC since launch.

First released in 2008 for the PlayStation 2 as Persona 4, Persona 4 Golden would release in 2012 for the PlayStation Vita. Essentially an “enhanced” version of the game, it added new story content, a new character, new Social Links and much more. The game was critically acclaimed at the time, which has apparently held up judging by the “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating for the PC version.

Along with full HD resolution support and variable frame rates, the Steam release also includes Trading Cards and Steam Achievements. One also has the option between English or Japanese voiceovers. With the port’s success on PC, we’ll have to wait and see if Atlus brings other Persona titles over to the platform. Stay tuned in the meantime.
