The wait for Pikmin 4 has been a long one, but the long-awaited sequel to Nintendo’s beloved (and gleefully weird) strategy series is finally almost upon us. Ahead of its launch in a month’s time, at the recent Nintendo Direct presentation, we also got another look at the game with a new gameplay trailer.
The trailer reveals a major new gameplay feature in the form of Night Missions, which is a first for the series. As opposed to previous instalments, which force players to return to HQ before night falls, in Pikmin 4, players will be able to venture out for missions at nighttime. That, of course, will bring its own unique threats, though with the introduction of the new Glow Pikmin, exploring in the darkness will be made easier. Check out the trailer below for all of that and more.
And there’s more good news for the Pikmin fans out there. Nintendo has also announced Pikmin 1 and 2 HD remasters for the Switch, both of which are available right now. Read more on that through here.
Pikmin 4 launches for the Nintendo Switch on July 21. Nintendo has confirmed that a free demo will also be available on the Switch eShop on June 28.
