Pikmin 4

The latest Nintendo Direct has begun and immediately kicked off with the gameplay of Pikmin 4. In development for years, the long-awaited sequel is finally releasing on July 21st for the Nintendo Switch. Check out the debut gameplay below.

The mechanics are as you’d expect from a Pikmin title, as the new protagonist can recruit Pikmin and command them to perform various actions. Attack enemies, carry large objects, create walls, freeze lakes to walk on them, and much more. A new dog-like creature is also showcased, which helps players to destroy large obstacles.

There are massive bosses to battle, each taking up the screen and looking pretty menacing. However, what’s more interesting is when night falls, something strange happens to enemies as they gain glowing red eyes. It’s intriguing, and more details will be revealed in the coming months. Until then, stay tuned for more updates from the Nintendo Direct.
