PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Hits 1 Million Concurrent Players on Steam

Another record set by the game no one will stop talking about.

PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds has been a veritable sensation ever since it launched in Early Access earlier this year; since then, the game has gone on to break all manner of records, hitting milestones with a rapidity that has been stunning.

And now, another one, possibly the most historic one- the game has now hit 1 million concurrent players on Steam, becoming the very first game ever to do so. That’s right, not DOTA 2, not Counter Strike, not Skyrim, it was Battlegrounds that hit this milestone before any other game managed to.

This comes on the heel of the news that 10 million copies of the game have been sold already- which, again, a reminder that this game is still in Early Access. If this is the kind of success it is getting now, I can’t wait to see what it does once it is out with a final release (and also, once the Xbox One version releases later this year).
