Despite releasing on test servers only a few days ago, the latest PC patch for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available on live servers. Along with compensating BP to players who didn’t properly receive the same following version 1.0’s launch (which must be claimed before February 9th, 11:59 PM UTC), it also brings new cosmetic crates to the forefront.
The two new crates have generated a fair bit of controversy, not only because of the RNG nature of the drops but because you’re limited to only six crates per week. Furthermore, the drop rates for some of the rarest items can range from 0.01 percent to 0.16 percent, making the grind all the more insane.
It’s still possible to pay real money on the Steam Market for crates though you’ll need to pay money for keys to open the Desperado crates. Check out the full patch notes here which also includes an expansion of the reporting system. This allows players to report suspected cheaters from the replay function instead of just doing so in-game.
