PlayStation 4 Receiving Twitch and Sony Music Unlimited, Sony Ties up With European ISPs

Sony promises some fat pipes for your (European) gaming needs.

Sony announced that Twitch, the so-called world leading video platform, will be heading to the PlayStation 4. But that’s not all: In terms of music, the console will also see the release of Sony Music Unlimited on day one of launch. It will feature a new interface which will be faster and easier to use.

Sony is also intent on improving the social experience with the PlayStation 4 through broadband connectivity. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president and CEO Jim Ryan has hence announced that it will be entering into strategic partnerships with European ISPs such Deutche Telecom, Orange, Virgin and ONO to reserve pipes for gamers, with speeds of up to 200 MB per second.

Not bad, in terms of ensuring that gamers will get their fair share of bandwidth when playing online in multiplayer and for availing of digital downloads on PlayStation Plus. How about North America though, Sony?
