Sony’s Brad Douglas indicated on Twitter that the company had announced that the PlayStation 4 would be able to capture video footage of games using HDMI. This was confirmed by VP of Publisher & Developer Relations at SCEA Adam Boyes, who stated that there would be more details to follow down the road.

Considering the advantage that HDMI capturing offers, with full HD footage that can play in 60 frames per second, we’d say that Sony is taking video capture to a whole new level.
The PlayStation 4 will meanwhile be launching on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe, with a launch in Asia, including Korea and Hong Kong, this December. Japan will have to wait slightly longer, as the console is currently slated to release on February 24th 2014, though there will be benefits such as a free copy of Knack with the console. Stay tuned for more details as the Tokyo Game Show rolls on.
