Days before its State of Play showcase—slated for June 2nd—Sony has announced Days of Play 2026. The event kicks off on May 27th and will go on until June 10th. Throughout the period, players will be able to get their hands on discounted PlayStation games and hardware, as well as new content for PlayStation Plus subscribers. There will also be PlayStation Tournaments to look forward to.
These tournaments will include fan-favorite multiplayer games like EA Sports Madden NFL 26, NBA 2K26, Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, EA Sports UFC 5, EA Sports College Football 26, Gran Turismo 7, Astro Bot, Asphalt 9: Legends, and Fortnite. Participating in at least one match in one of these tournaments during Days of Play will unlock a unique PS Avatar that commemorates the event, and also reward the player by automatically entering them into a sweepstakes.
The sweepstakes includes a PlayStation Portal, a DualSense Edge wireless controller, a 12-month subscription to PlayStation Plus Premium, and $100 of PlayStation Store credit as among its prizes. The player who wins the most matches in their region will win the grand prize.
Some games—EA Sports FC 26, EA Sports Madden NFL 26, and Mortal Kombat 1—will also include “Golden Tournaments” that will reward players with double virtual currency and a Golden Tournament avatar. Gran Turismo 7 tournament participants will also get their hands on an exclusive livery that celebrates Days of Play. Fortnite players can look forward to taking part in the Days of Play Cup that features a global cash prize pool worth $200,000.
As for hardware, Sony has confirmed that, during Days of Play 2026, there will be a series of discounts on PlayStation accessories. Among these will be a $100 discount on PlayStation VR2, $30 off on a DualSense Edge controller, and up to $20 off on other DualSense controllers. Games aren’t missing out on the discounts either, with first-party titles like The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered and Ghost of Yōtei also getting discounted prices.
“2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year in gaming, full of exciting new game releases, experiences, and milestones,” wrote Sony in its announcement. “With Days of Play, now is the perfect time to pick up that game that’s been on your ‘to-play’ list for months or discover something new that could become one of your all-time favorites.”
Along with this, Sony has also revealed its line-up of PlayStation Plus games for the month of June. Headlining the month will be Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, along with Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2, and co-op shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. PS Plus Premium and Extra subscribers will also get Destiny 2: Legacy Collection (2025), which includes all of the content that has been released for the shooter up to The Final Shape. More additions to the Premium and Extra catalogue will be revealed next month.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will also get other freebies, like the presence of EA Sports FC 26, which came in as one of May’s monthly games, until June 16th. Other things include exclusive packs across a variety of games, including EA Sports FC 26, World of Tanks: HEAT, and Marathon.
