PlayStation Experience Will Have “A Few Surprises”, Detroit Discussed

Sony's Jim Ryan says multiple events in a year "keeps the heat on devs".

Sony had a pretty strong presence during Paris Games Week, dating titles like No Man’s Sky while also unveiling games like Dreams and David Cage’s long-awaited Detroit: Become Human for PS4. That being said, Sony is still looking forward to PlayStation Experience 2015 where even more is in store.

Speaking to Eurogamer, PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan said that, “I’m sure there’ll be a few surprises for PlayStation Experience. Moving from a global calendar of three events to a calendar of four events, it keeps the heat on the developers to churn out new stuff, which is good.”

Ryan also spoke about how David Cage’s Detroit: Become Human is incredibly favoured due to Quantic Dream’s experience with creating different kinds of games. “It’s nice to have different sorts of stuff on the platform, and David brings that. I loved Heavy Rain – that’s my kind of game – and I think, as an industry, as development risk becomes greater, there’s a risk that we’re recycling low risk annual iterations. People like David bring a fresh and different approach. That’s great, and it’s important that stuff continues to happen and prosper.”
