Sony’s streaming service for PlayStation games, PlayStation Now, has launched in multiple countries in Europe, with beta testing having officially come to an end there. The service is available now in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, Sony announced on the PS Blog today.
PS Now will give all users access to the streaming library on the service, which is the only way PS3 games can be played on PS4; it also allows users to download PS4 games, and PS2 games enhanced for PS4, and play them natively from your console for as long as you are subscribed. As is always the case, you don’t need PS+ to play PS Now games online.
Sony’s doing a good job of getting PS Now out there in as many markets as possible, to give themselves headstart in the game streaming sphere ahead of the launches of streaming services from Microsoft, Google, and potentially even Apple. Hopefully, their offering will be able to match up to those others qualitatively as well.
