Earning money (aka Pokedollars) in Pokemon Legends: Arceus functions much like it does in the previous series. However, with the lack of battles with Trainers, it may seem tough to actually buy some of the different expansions for your satchel (which increase exponentially with each upgrade) or the Ginko Guild’s items. Fortunately, there are still ways to make a quick buck and thanks to crafting, you don’t have to worry about buying Pokeballs.
The first method – catching Pokemon – seems to be the least obvious but it’s very lucrative. Since you’re part of the Survey Corps and receive requests to capture specific Pokemon, you’ll also receive money for each. Given how this ties into your overall quest to capture all of the different Pokemon in the Hisui region, it’s very much worth it. Of course, how you must capture certain Pokemon must always be kept in mind since each request has their own specific requirements.
Another method is to seek out and sell precious items. Obtaining them requires looking for Tumblestone formations, usually red, black or blue. Sometimes, you’ll see them sparkling and can obtain bags of Stardust which sell for 1000 Pokedollars.
You’ll also want to investigate the various Space-Time Distortions that can spawn randomly. These provide Comet Shards and Gold Nuggets that can be sold for thousands of Pokedollars. However, these are only active for about 10 minutes so you’ll need to act quick. In terms of revenue, the Space-Time Distortions arguably provide the most even if they’re random.
Finally, there are the Alpha Pokemon. These strong Pokemon are aggressive and will easily school you in battle if you’re not strong enough. However, they also drop rare items that can be sold. Seek out Alpha Pokemon that respawn and continuously farm them for said items.
Also remember to make regular trips back to Jubilife Village – getting knocked out results in items being lost, which includes your precious items.
How to Earn Merit Points
As mentioned above, a player loses some of their items when knocked out during an Expedition. This can be all the more annoying if they’ve been hoarding precious items to sell. However, their loss could be your gain. When playing online, you have the chance to find another player’s satchel and return it to them. Doing so awards Merit Points to you.
To look for any lost satchels, open the map while connected online and they should appear. Upon collecting these satchels and returning them to the Lost and Found (accessed by pressing up on the D-Pad and pressing ZR/ZL for the Communications tab), return to Jubilife Village. Speak to Simona in the Training Grounds and she’ll provide some items in exchange for Merit Points.
