In reply to Wes Shrum. I guess i have been lucky with my Powercolor PCS+ 290 , other than few black screens in the past 2 years (last ones sometimes 2015) i have been trouble free and since moving to Windows 10 it has been smooth sailing :)

In reply to Toni McGuinness. I will most likely go with the 1070, while my 280x has been good to me, it was not without it problems. Drivers mostly. So I will try a out nvidia this go around and see how things go.

In reply to charlie Jason. Yep ,that's the founders edition and indeed the price is a bit high .Its a good card but I do not think price/performance ratio is very good . Both of the GTX's are too expensive for me as it stands , I think I will definitely wait for rx480 and see what it can do. :)

Yep,i hope 490 comes out rather sooner than later .I might have to settle for rx480 for the time being as gtx 1070 will be £399 in UK ( around 520usd give or take few) I cannot justify such outlay especially with the lack of full hardware support for certain dx12 feature (asynchronous compute) ,I'm not sure as yet , perhaps I'll stick to my current card for a bit longer ?

In reply to Toni McGuinness. True. I think the fact that RX480 is a VR capable card at $200 is already good enough. So is GTX1070 offering slightly faster than Titan X performance at $380. Maybe 1060 and 490 would prove to have slightly better value, but picking from the current selections right now is still a great choice, in my opinion.
