PS4 Firmware Update 2.50: First Screenshots Show Off Some of the Changes

Menu color changes, accessibility options, and more showcased.

After weeks of speculations and leaks, the latest PlayStation 4 update was finally confirmed yesterday, and it appeared to be everything that people had been expecting and hoping for, and more. With features ranging from Accessibility options to Suspend/Resume, it is the most feature rich update to Sony consoles in a while.

In japan, Sony released a bunch of screenshots showing us what would be changing with the upcoming update, which you can see above. The screenshots show us some of the accessibility options, and how they will work, and they also show us different background colors for the menu other than just the blue that the system defaults to right now.

Those are all good changes. The change that I am not personally a fan of is how they seem to have moved the PSN Store from its place in the top bar to the Library portion of the console- it will constantly get in the way there, instead of having its own dedicated spot. It makes no sense to me.

But I won’t bitch about it too much- on the whole, it’s a great update.

Thanks, DualShockers.
