A new firmware update is available for PlayStation 4 consoles today and the download size is 325 MB. It should be available as soon as you turn on the console.
As for what changes firmware update 4.73 brings, it basically “improves the quality of the system performance.” Which isn’t really saying much and comes shortly after the last update. Of course, it could also be that Sony is prepping the console for the next big firmware update which is currently in beta testing. Time will tell so in the meantime we’ll have to be patient.
In other news, the PS4 shipped slightly less consoles in the first quarter of its fiscal year 2017 as compared to the same period last year noting the lack of a “highly profitable” first party game. The difference isn’t too high since lifetime units shipped is at 63.3 million units. It was still enough for Sony to revise its forecast for the rest of the fiscal year as it expects to ship 18 million units.
