PS4 Firmware Update 6.00 Rolls Out, Does Nothing Meaningful

They just want to waste our bandwidth.

Sony had rolled out the beta for PS4’s system software update 6.00 some time back, and now, the full update has been released as well. In spite of being 6.00, though, it’s about as non-major and unremarkable as you’d expect it to be- it improves the system’s stability, and… yeah, that’s it.

The beta version of the update had brought about fixes for the PS Store’s archaic search system as well, but thankfully, Sony had already made that available to everyone already. The update weighs 447 MB, so at least it won’t take long to download it. To be fair, the PS4 did have a pretty major firmware update not that long ago when 5.50 was rolled out, so it makes sense that now may not be the time for something as major.

The PS Vita, surprisingly enough, also got some love from Sony quite recently. The handheld, which is pretty much dead already, recently also received a system software update, which also does not do much more than improve the general software stability of the system.
