PS4 Firware Update 1.7: Automatic Error Reports And More

You can also disable video recording while "sharing".

A few images of the PS4’s firmware update 1.7 in Japan, which is about to hit western shores in a few weeks, have revealed some new features that Sony have not yet confirmed. There’s some pretty neat features here, such as saving hard disk space while sharing videos or automatically sending error reports to Sony.

Talking about HCCP first- the screenshot above shows an option that is currently not available in the PS4 menu (sixth row)- HDCP disabling allows your PS4 to automatically send error reports over to Sony to help them with future firmware updates better.

Another really neat feature allows you to save precious hard disk space when you’re sharing a video. While sharing, what a PS4 does is it records a large chunk of a video and saves it to your hHDD- then it shares it. However, you will not have the option of shortening the video that that is to be recorded or disabling recording altogether, if you don’t want to watch it again in the future.

Stay tuned to GB, and we’ll keep you updated as more info comes out way.

Thanks, DualShockers
