According to Andrew House, the head honcho at Sony Computer Entertainment, the launch of the PS4 presents some very promising opportunities for the PlayStation Vita, specifically because of the fact that as Sony moves forward with the two gaming mediums, the exclusivity between the two will continue to dwindle as good business sense would dictate. In fact the majority of PS4 games release thus far are all required to have PS Vita supported analogues. House was quoted:
“I think Remote Play offers a great opportunity for PlayStation Vita to be seen as a companion device for the PlayStation 4 – a chance, with a reasonable investment, to have a second-screen experience. According to our research, that’s resonated most in Europe, ahead of anywhere else.”
When asked about the new upcoming Vita model House said:
“I can’t talk about launch plans for the 2000 series at this point. It has launched in Japan and it’s selling very well there, and it has certainly increased overall Vita sales – both on hardware and software.”
