The PS3 was very annoying when it came to friends notifications- we’d get one every time a friend came online or went offline. Meanwhile, the PS4 has had the exact opposite problem- it has no friends notifications. People are slightly pissed at what is at the very least a clear regression, and also an inability of Sony to get a simple feature right (see also: the Xbox 360. Or you very own PlayStation Vita although that would mean you’d have to acknowledge its existence. Hmm.).
However, now, according to a tweet by PlayStation UK, the feature may be coming in a future firmware update. Or, well, at the very least, it is ‘under consideration for a future firmware update.’ Thanks Sony! I am sure that enabling Blu Ray 3D playback first was more important though.
Still, at least they have started to communicate about their plans for future firmware updates a bit more than before now. I’d say that’s already an improvement.
