PS4 Sales Hit 1.1 Million in Japan

And this is before the big hitters start coming in.

The PlayStation 4 has now hit 1.1 million units sold cumulatively in Japan, just about a year after its initial launch in the country; this news comes courtesy of the latest Media create figures, as well as some analysis done by DualShockers.

Of course, the console still has a long way to go- sales are still lethargic in the territory, and though it outpaces it weekly, the PS4 is still lagging behind the Wii U in overall lifetime sales. It is also far behind the PS Vita (which in itself is a sales flop) and the Nintendo 3DS (Which it is unlikely to ever catch up with).

However, things should be looking up for the console soon, as it is on the cusp of receiving many games that should bolster its sales, including Bloodborne, Dragon Quest Heroes, God Eater 2 Rage Burst, Final Fantasy Type 0 HD, and Persona 5.

Japan needs a healthy console leading the market, and at the moment, Sony is the best candidate for that. Let’s hope they can pull it off.
