PS4 Software Update 1.71 Now Available, Weighs 194 MB

Sony's update fixes problems with Cloud saves and the DualShock 4's vibration.

Well that was quick.

After announcing earlier today that it would bring out an update for the PlayStation 4, Sony has already gone and released firmware update 1.71. The patch notes themselves are fairly simple: “System software stability during use of some features has been improved.”

This could be interpreted as general improvements all around but there’s a lot more to the new update, which is 194 MB in size. Some users reported the DualShock 4’s vibration being disabled when the console turned off or went into stand-by. This issue has been resolved along with issues some PS Plus were facing in uploading save data to the Cloud. You won’t need to manually overwrite any of your previous saves after the latest update.

Have you found any benefits from using the new firmware update aside from the above? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or whether you’ve found any new issues after the update.
