There’s a new next-gen rumour, and it relates to the PS4. Sony’s next-gen console is something that a lot of people are looking forward to obviously, because they try a lot of weird things with their consoles and they’re a top company when it comes to designing electronics.
The PS4 dev kits are reportedly shipped to developers, the new ones I mean. This rumour comes via VG247 who have revealed a lot of new information about the system. Their track record is mostly excellent, so here’s are the specs.
The dev kits contain 8-16 GB RAM, which means the final version historically will be halved to 4-8 GB, which is quite fantastic. Sony’s goal is to ship a system that can run 1080p60fps games in 3D without any effort, and it looks like we have the processor of the system as well.
The dev kits contain an AMD APU, which is a mulitprocess chip that has both CPU and GPU in a same die. It’s not that powerful to output 1080p60fps according to my tech knowledge unless it is supported by a 7000 series GPU.
Sony also says that they want to make the system affordable and powerful too, so that the mistakes of the PS3 aren’t repeated. The system is also supposed to have a 256GB HDD.
