PS4 Update 5.00 Beta Available Now

And it's as disappointing as the early leaks suggested.

We had already primed ourselves to not expect too much from PS4 system update 5.00, thanks to early release notes that Eurogamer obtained a few weeks ago. And now that the beta for the firmware update is rolling out, it seems like the final thing is just about as disappointing as those release notes suggested.

First, let’s get the basics out of the way– the beta update is rolling out now, and if you were selected as a beta tester, you should be receiving an email that explains how to download and install the update on your system some time shortly. Once you do have it, you will find not as many changes from how things work.

Among the changes will be how family accounts are managed (allowing more than one ‘Master’ or adult account per family), the ability to create specific lists to organize your friends, the ability to link communities to broadcasts, support for 1080p 60fps streaming on Twitch for PS4 Pro owners, the ability to share messages, configure notifications a bit more, and some changes to the Quick Menu.

Nothing big, all little things- but I guess Sony now feels like they have reached a point where they are satisfied with how the UI stands, and want to refine it more than anything else.
