Unboxing videos for the PlayStation 5 Pro have begun going live before its launch, but several details have already circulated over the weekend. Various customers in Brazil seemingly received their consoles early, sharing the safety manual (which indicates a previously unannounced extra 2 GB DDR5 RAM). If all the features like PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution and ray tracing haven’t impressed, then there’s good news – the PS5 Pro can seemingly capture 8K screenshots.
TCMFGames revealed this on Twitter in an attached image. The only title confirmed to support 8K resolution on the console is Gran Turismo 7. However, Sony has seemingly included it as a future-proof option for other titles going the same route. Alternatively, it may be suited for those who want to admire such high-resolution images, potentially for photo editing.
Time will tell, but it’s a novel option to have. The PS5 Pro is available on November 7th worldwide, retailing for $699.99. You can learn more about its features here, and how it stacks up to the base PS5. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
