Rumours of PS5 Pro have been in the headlines for quite some time now, and though Sony has yet to officially announce the mid-gen console refresh, it looks like it’s only a matter of time before that happens, with the console apparently being an “open secret” amongst game developers at Gamescom last week.
That’s as per a report published by Wccftech, with a developer allegedly having told the outlet that they had received the PS5 Pro’s specs, and that the console would be able to run Unreal Engine 5-powered titles much better than the existing PS5 model. As per the report, the studio in question is “not at all a big one” (though it understandably doesn’t go into further detail), suggesting that details of the PS5 Pro have been officially conveyed by Sony to a large number of developers, rather than just the biggest studios.
As the report mentions, Italian outlet Multiplayer also claimed in a recent livestream that they had been told by a developer at Gamescom that they had delayed their upcoming title to better align it with the launch of the PS5 Pro.
Leaks have claimed that the PS5 Pro is due out later this year, with an announcement allegedly scheduled for September. Stay tuned for more updates.
