PS5’s DualSense Has the PlayStation Symbols Printed on its Surface

The DualSense's textured finish is achieved in a rather interesting fashion.

Sony have been focusing on the DualSense in their marketing for the PS5 quite extensively, with the controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers being given a lot of attention. How much of an impact those new features will actually have remains to be seen, but until then, some interesting cosmetic details about the controller have surfaced that hadn’t previously been known.

Evzen Elite Technology, an Argentinian firm that manufactures peripherals for consoles including the PS4) recently took to Instagram to share new snapshots of the controller. There’s seven images in total (which you can view below), showing the DualSense from different angles, with one image that even shows the controller’s innards. One image in particular, however, shows an extreme close up of the controller, revealing that the PlayStation symbols that have also been its controllers’ face buttons since the PS1 days – O, X, Square, and Triangle – have been printed onto the controller’s surface. Take a look below.

While Sony have revealed some crucial details about the PS5 in the lead up to its launch, such as its price, launch date, and launch lineup, other details are still murky. Sony has suggested that more info on the console’s overhauled UI will be coming soon. Here’s hoping we learn more about the controller soon as well- we still don’t know what improvements the new Create button brings, for instance.

The PS5 launches in some regions of the world on November 12, and everywhere else on November 19. The console will be sold at $499, with the Digital Edition being sold at $399.
