As you must have already known by now, the PlayStation Network was down for around two hours. The official status page of PSN stated back then that players “may be experiencing issues related to launching games, applications, and/or social features such as trophies, messaging, or friends list” and once again Sony asked fans to be patient. Fortunately, the service is back online.
But a quick look at popular social media forums and services such as Twitter and Reddit reveals that fans are not happy about this. It was only few months back that the PSN was attacked by a group of hackers and it obviously does not bode well for a company that charges customers money for online gaming. Granted that PSN is an awesome service when it works and the monthly free games are nice to have but Sony should seriously start looking into making the service more stable, especially during holidays.
“Man can’t we have at least 1 month without psn struggle? Is that really to much to ask?,” said one user in a massive thread on Reddit. A basic search on Twitter reveals hundreds of thousands of unhappy customers.
Sony, get your act together. We know you are working hard and not everything works 100% perfect but a stable and more consistent service will do you a world of good.
