The PlayStation Network will be going down for three hours this Thursday for scheduled maintenance, Sony announced today. While PSN is down, accessing the PSN Store or services like PS Home may be impossible, though Sony confirmed that online gaming may be available in some limited capacity.
“For the duration of the maintenance you will be unable to login to Account Management and the PS Store. PS Home will also be unavailable,” their statement read. “PS4 users will be able to access online gameplay only if their system is activated as their Primary system and they have recently signed into their SEN account and have their authentication details cached. If your PS4 system is not activated as the Primary system, online gaming may not be available.
“PS3 and PS Vita users may experience limited PSN functionality, however online gameplay will be available to users who have recently signed into their SEN account and have their authentication details cached. Users who do not have their details cached, will not be able to sign-in to their account or begin an online gaming session.”
Personally, I have logged in recently enough on all my PlayStation devices that I am set, but you may want to go ahead and do so yourself- otherwise, imagine trying to play Destiny without being able to access the online mode.
