PSP: Games to Look forward in 2009 and 2010

The PlayStation Portable was assumed by many that it will not have any legs after 2009. But man all those assumptions went horribly wrong and Sony announced a great line up of games for 2009 and 2010. Here we pick up the games that you should own if you have a PSP.

Year 2009:

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

Kingdom Hearts will probably get released by the end of year if reports are to be believed. The game will serve as a prequel to the first Kingdom Hearts game. Players can assume the role of Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. If you are a big fan of role playing games that you just cant miss this game.

Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines

Players will once again assume the role of Altair, the protagonist of the original Assassins Creed. Featuring an open world and non linear gameplay, one can expect that this game will use the full power of the Playstation Portable.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier

Fans have been waiting for years to get another Jak and Daxter game. Though many were disappointed that the next game is not coming on the PS3, but at least we have a new Jak and Daxter game on the PSP. The game picks up after the events of Jak 3.

Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny

Soul Calibur IV is one of the best weapon based fighting games out there in the market. The developers will hope that Broken Destiny will continue that trend and with Kratos as a playable fighter, can this game go wrong?

MotorStorm: Arctic Edge

Featuring custom sound tracks, online play and a new photo mode, this portable installment will definitely achieve what it’s console counterparts were not able to. The game will take place in the Arctic region, so expect climatic conditions affecting your car handling.

Gran Turismo

If the calibre of Polyphony Digital is involved, than how can a Gran Turismo game can probably go wrong? Featuring a plethora of cars and tracks, finally the wait for a GT game on a PSP will come to an end very soon.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3

After the disappointments with Confrontation, Sony are back again with another installment of the SOCOM franchise on the PSP. Hopefully this game will have zero technical issues when it launches.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Shattered Memories is not the first Silent Hill game to hit the PSP, hopefully Konami would have sorted out the camera and the control issues which plagued the first game on the Portable. Other than that players can expect the traditional horror elements that is expected from a Silent Hill game.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Featuring a top down perspective of GTA and the first GTA game to have a comic book like appearance this game sure sounds like interesting. We will keep our fingers crossed until we get our hands on it.

LittleBigPlanet

The PS3 version was a belter of a hit and fans should be happy that the PSP will have its own version of LBP. It will be a totally different expereince playing sack boy on the portable.

Year 2010:

Army of Two: The 40th Day

After the first game bombed, Tyson Rios and Elliot Salem are back again in this sequel. This time they are trying to save their asses from their enemies in Shanghai. I hope EA don’t repeat the same mistakes again!

Resident Evil Portable

I just don’t remember a Resident Evil game going wrong on any platform. So how can the PSP version can go wrong? Details are scarce, but we can always play the waiting game.
